Learning Site Opens In Summerville

Trident Literacy Association (TLA) has opened a learning site in Summerville at 907, Suite 2, Miles Jamison Road and has started testing clients to place them into a self-paced learning program, personalized to meet their needs.  tla-slv-katie-clients-2012

Once evaluated, clients begin one-to-one instruction with tutors, using a comprehensive learning path, to reach their maximum reading, math and comprehension skill levels.   The overall goal is to help each student reach their highest learning potential which can lead to taking the GED test and advancing onto higher education and/or better employment opportunities through WorkKeys placement.

If you are interested in volunteering as a tutor with TLA, please contact the Summerville learning site, for details.  Tutors participate in an orientation which allows them to immediately begin working with students.  It is highly rewarding to witness the determination and progress of literacy students. Family, friends and employers are encouraged to recommend potential clients to Trident Literacy for services.  Call the TLA Summerville Learning Site at 832-8225 and ask for Katie Kuhl, site manager.
