You can make a difference in our community.
Literacy can mean a better life for so many in the tri-county.
One in four people (25%) in the tri-county area are functionally illiterate. That means they can barely write their names. They cannot apply for better jobs, correctly read medicine labels for themselves or loved ones, or reach their potential in life.
Since 1972, Trident Literacy Association has offered individualized and small group instruction for adults that get results.
With the help of more than 200 volunteers and dozens of community collaborators, Trident Literacy Association serves more than 2000 students annually.
Volunteers and supporters are welcomed and appreciated.
Volunteer training is held the third Wednesday of each month, 6-7:30 p.m., at 5416-B Rivers Avenue in North Charleston. Please call in advance to register.
